Pics of Sam

Some pics of sam and the fam over the summer. Finally downloaded them this morning from my memory because it was filled this weekend when we went to Houston and the boardwalk at Kemah.
Just realized Christina is the cliche bare foot and prego in the pic.
Sam's first ride "It's a small world"....he was mesmerized
on the carousel at the mall in Houston
Will have to get some pics of his baptism. I actually don't have any. What kind of mama am I?

First day part 2

Today was great! I ended up only having 17 kids today. 4 of my kids didn't show up and then I did gain one new student. My class is really quite good. It is amazing. It will be interesting to see if any of the 4 who were absent today end up showing tomorrow.

Of course my feet are killing me. Thank goodness tomorrow is Friday and we can dress down. Back to my good old sandals. Oh and the temp today for the first day of school...over 100. Recess was pretty darn miserable.

First day

Today is the first day of school with kids. I am kind of nervous because I am not nervous. I know that makes no sense, but even though I have only had about two weeks to get ready, I am pretty comfortable where I stand right now. There were teachers, veteran teachers who were leaving yesterday with no clue as to what they were going to do today. Ones with their rooms in no shape to start also. My room is ready I have a ton of things to do; I am set.

Mrs. Brown the Assistant Principal came in yesterday and was looking at the kids in my class. I have 20. Nice amount, but she said she knows that two of them do not live here anymore. 18 kids I can handle that. Of course those kids may have come back and of course I will be the first to get any new ones that come in, but if I only have 18 kids today that would be awesome.

A Special weekend..

As I sit at my office and think about the week I am reminded that this week is special in the fact that Shelley and I have reached the 3 year mark of are life together. It's been great I've been married and I must say I have really forgotten what happened all those years ago. I feel like a new man, like I've been given the chance to really be loved and to give love.

I must say that this life with Sam and Shelley is great. I do miss Tre and Taylor but I feel that they will learn so much from what Shelley has to give them.

I just what to thank Shelley for the love she gives not just to me but my children who will not understand until they are married and on their own. I have not shown her the love I feel she should get but in these days of getting our lives together I think she knows that I have a love and understanding for her that most can only dream of.

Thanks Shelley....And stop crying over this post ;)

WORK!!!!!

Today is my first official day at school. Of course I have been there all week and a little last week trying to get the room ready. I have new teacher orientation today, then Friday through Wednesday we have instiutes, and school starts on Thursday the 17th.

I am very nervous, excited, scared, the gamut really on emotions. Luckily the teachers at my school are wonderful. They have been helping me considerably with my questions. There are 7 fourth grades this year I was told, so I have experiences fourth grade teachers to draw knowledge from.

Return to Texas

Well we just got back from Illinois last night at 11:45. I am actually kind of glad I don't have to do that trip anytime soon. That is a long time in the car and my booty is tired of sitting for so many hours. We will be home at Christmas, but I think that we are going to fly.

I would like to thank all of you who prayed, wished on stars, talked to higher beings whatever you did. I am officially a fourth grade teacher at Westwood ISD in Palestine Texas. School starts in a couple of weeks I think so I have to get in gear and empty my house of the teaching boxes I have been storing for four long years. Alan is going to be so happy to see them leave he may even help me out.

I need to go call my boss, so everyone take care, keep in touch, pester Alan for new pics. Check back often.
